Created by artist team Ali Mirsky and Bonnie Fitzgerald, in commemoration of the City of Rockville’s 150th Anniversary. Spirit of Discovery consists of two distinct works of art. On the facade, a large mosaic of a spinning nebula: space, the final frontier. In the garden, a mosaic sculpture of a young girl looking at the nebula through a telescope. This installation honors both Rockville’s past and future within Science, Technology and Discovery.
